The event, led by Mr Steve Maverick Chaves and Ms Mariela Alcaparas, focused on “Design Thinking for Creating Community Programs” and attracted more than 250 student and faculty participants.
The workshop aimed to provide students with innovative tools and methodologies to address community challenges. Facilitators introduced design thinking as a human-centered approach, guiding students through the process of empathizing with community needs, ideating creative solutions, and prototyping these ideas.
The students engaged in collaborative brainstorming activities, fostering a productive and interactive environment. The large attendance underscored the workshop's success in creating an engaging and educational experience, with participants actively sharing insights and feedback.
Towards the end of the event, selected students presented their prototypes and received constructive feedback from the facilitators, emphasizing the importance of iteration in refining their solutions. The training also encouraged students to apply the design thinking mindset in future projects, highlighting its value in driving innovation and social impact. Lastly, the workshop highlighted the potential of design thinking to inspire and empower students to create impactful community programs in the context of their NSTP.
