Today, we're excited to spotlight another inspiring episode featuring Dr Anneth Singh, a pioneer in bamboo research.

Spotlight on Dr Anneth Singh and Bamboo Innovations
In this episode, Dr Anneth Singh shares invaluable lessons from her over 30-year career in bamboo research. Dr Singh holds a PhD in Forestry from the University of the Philippines - Los Baños and is a retired professor from De La Salle-Araneta University. Her dedication to the study and promotion of bamboo has made significant impacts on both the local and international levels.
Dr Singh currently serves as President of Bambu Salubre, SANTARRA Natural Products, Inc, and BIL, OPC. One of her early notable achievements was coordinating the First National Bamboo Congress in 1995. Over the years, she has developed bamboo-based agroforestry models and established the Marga Mabusetum, a remarkable collection of 80 bamboo species.
Her extensive research includes transforming bamboo leaves into a variety of products such as tea, hydrosol, beer, vinegar, and bamboo leaf extract. Dr Singh has also spearheaded bamboo processing projects in the Philippines and Vietnam. Her recent innovation—extracting silica from bamboo leaves—won a Php 1M grant from the Quezon City Startup Program, showcasing her continuous drive for innovation.
Dr Singh's company, Bamboo Impact Lab, is part of the Ateneo Blue Nest Incubation Program, where her groundbreaking work continues to flourish.
